44 Affirmations for Activism with Compassion!

Recently, I just finished an article about how Buddhism and feminism seem like they should clash, but really, the activism of feminism and the compassion of Buddhism need to come together.

Naturally, the next thing I wanted to do was to create affirmations specifically for that!

So keep reading for 35 affirmations for activism with compassion so that we might help change the world by reaching as many people as possible.

People Are Speaking Out Against Injustice

I continue to see more and more people speak out against the atrocities being committed in our world, from genocide to the continuing attempt to demolish democracy. People are calling out fascists and holding them accountable, and I’m all here for it.

But whatever side we take, we threaten to completely cut off the other side. (Frankly, I think MAGA relies on this.) I want to take a different approach.

I want us to speak out, to communicate our truths, to stop injustice where we can. But I believe we need to match our activism with compassion.

We cannot shut out everyone except those who share our exact opinions. Those who are able should try to reach out to those who seem lost. I tried again and again to appeal to family that do not share my politics, but it ended in estrangement.

I tried. I failed. But at least I tried.

Especially those who are SO close to understanding more than they initially thought, if we ostracize them, judge them, criticize them… that will push them even farther away.

I’m not saying to let others walk all over you…

I’m just saying that as you speak your truth, hold compassion for those who don’t agree with you. I still have Republican friends, and when we have conversations, I always try to come from a place of understanding.

I never hold back my opinion, but I don’t aim to use words that might divide us, if that makes sense. Here are some affirmations, some reminders, that compassion and activism can go together!

Pete Buttigieg, as flawed as he might be, has at least tried reaching across the table. It’s about having compassionate activism and recognizing the humanity in someone else who doesn’t think like you do.
